  6. Ex  1.54  is  a  scientific  calculator  for the  HP95/100/200LX
  7. palmtop computers and for PC-DOS clones,  written and  copyright
  8. (C) 1993-96 by J.A.Wrotniak.
  9.  
  10. The  program  comes in  two separate  versions; one  for the  HP
  11. palmtops and one for "regular" PC-DOS machines.
  12.  
  13. Ex  is  shareware;  the  details  of  registration  and  further
  14. distribution  are  given  in  the  enclosed  documentation file,
  15. EX.DOC.

  20. The following files should  have been  enclosed in  the set  you
  21. have received:

  23. * READ_ME.1ST - the one you are reading
  24.  
  25. * EX.EXE - the program itself
  26.  
  27. * EX.UNI - data for unit conversion
  28.  
  29. * EX.HLP - used by the on-line help
  30.  
  31. * EX.ERR - run-time error messages
  32.  
  33. * EX.DOC - the user manual
  34.  
  35. * EX_HP.DOC - an HP Palptop addendum (if applicable)
  36.  
  37. * EXTUT.DOC - a tutorial text file
  38.  
  39. * WHATS.NEW - a list of recent changes
  40.  
  41. * FILE_ID.DIZ - a brief program info for bulletin boards
  42.  
  43. * REGISTER.DOC - information on how ro register

  45. The additional files work only with the registered copies:
  46.  
  47. * EXSET.EXE - a setup program
  48.  
  49. * EXSET.DOC - its brief documentation
  50.  
  51. * UNITS.TXT  - unit  definitions (ASCII) for use with EXSET.EXE
  52.  
  53. Except  for  the  EX.EXE file,  all others are identical for all
  54. mutations of the program.

  57. PRINTING THE DOCUMENTATION
  58.  
  59. The .DOC files are in the ASCII format  with hard  returns after
  60. each line, and 64 characters wide. They can be viewed or printed
  61. directly from any desktop computer.
  62.  
  63. For a printout, switch your printer,if  possible, to  the PC-850
  64. character set (this can be done on the  HP printers),  otherwise
  65. some of the special  characters (e.g.,  the pi  symbol) may  not
  66. print right.

  69. QUICK START
  70.  
  71. Copy EX.PRG, EX.UNI, EX.HLP and EX.ERR to the same directory  on
  72. your HP95/100/200LX or on a PC-DOS clone.  Registered users also
  73. should copy their personal EX.KEY file there.
  74.  
  75. While in that directory, run the program by typing EX.   (On the
  76. HP palmtop you may also run  Ex from  the Filer  by highlighting
  77. EX.EXE and pressing F4.)

  79. Once running, F1 will  bring the  on-line help,  F10 will  exit.

  83. NOTE: KALKULATOR FOR WINDOWS 3.1 AND 95 AVAILABLE NOW!

  85. KAKULATOR,  based on Ex and working under Windows 3.1 or 95 (two
  86. separate versions),  is now available.  The current Version 1.42
  87. has all the features of Ex and more, and a civilized user inter-
  88. face.  Registered users  of Ex get a  $10 discount  from the $40
  89. Kalkulator registration price.
